Yellow Onion

6″x6″, Oil on Panel

This painting was done during the pandemic. My wife and I had recently reconnected with an artist friend in Rome, and we decided that a good way to pass the time during lockdown was with a series of “painting challenges”. Each month or so, we’d choose a “theme”, and execute a single small painting on that topic. I think the theme for this one was “Vegetables” or something. I picked up this yellow onion at the market, and liked how it looked against the turquoise fabric.
