Teaching has been an essential part of my life and my art practice for 25 years, with a particular focus on realism in drawing and painting.

Unlike many artists who teach as a means to supplement their independent studio work, I view teaching as a core component of my own artistic practice. In fact, much of my completed artwork originates from examples or demonstrations created for my students. This process of guiding others in their artistic development has, in turn, prompted me to explore new and challenging directions in my own studio work.

Since 2006, my teaching journey has taken place exclusively at Vitruvian Fine Art Studio, an online platform that I operate alongside my wife, the painter and sculptor Melinda Whitmore. At Vitruvian Studio, we provide a range of online courses, both pre-recorded and live-streamed, as well as an ongoing support community for artists who are committed to long-term skill development.
